Overview
Welcome to Gentle Wuff. This policy covers the website at www.gentlewuff.com (the “Site”) and the Gentle Wuff app (see “The Gentle Wuff App” below). Gentle Wuff (“we,” “our,” or “us”) is a US company and this website operates in the US for US consumers. We are committed to protecting the privacy of our online visitors, and we believe that you have a right to know what information we collect from you and how we protect your privacy.
This Privacy Policy is designed to explain how the Site collects, uses, and shares Personal Information (information that can be used to identify you). By using this Site, you are agreeing to this Privacy Policy.
This Privacy Policy is subject to and incorporated by reference in our Terms of Service.
Information we collect
Information you provide to us
We collect the information you choose to share with us — for example when you place an order, create an account, sign up for emails or texts, write a review, contact customer support or chat with our assistant. This may include your name, email address, phone number, shipping and billing address, order details, review content and the content of your messages.
Information we collect automatically
When you visit the Site we automatically receive technical information such as your IP address, browser and device type, pages viewed, referring page and the date and time of your visit. Our hosting provider keeps this in server logs to run and secure the Site. Additional information is collected through cookies, pixels and similar technologies only as described under “Cookies, Pixels & Your Consent” below.
The Gentle Wuff app
This section covers the Gentle Wuff app for iPhone, iPad and Android. The rest of this policy applies to the app too where it is relevant (your rights, children, security, contact).
What the app collects
- Account: your email address and the name and username you choose. Signing in with Apple or Google shares only what you approve on their screen.
- Your dogs: the profiles you add (name, size, energy, photos) and the schedules and reminders you set.
- Location: used only while the app is open, to show nearby places, the weather for your area and to confirm that a visit report was made at the place. The app does not track your location in the background.
- Visit reports and reviews: your answers about a place (for example whether dogs were allowed, shade, water) and any photos you attach. Reports are shown to other owners as totals and scores, not with your name.
- Heads-ups: short warnings you leave at a place. They are shown without your name and expire on their own.
- Community posts and comments you choose to publish, shown with your username.
- My places: the spots, notes, photos, lists and home privacy zone you save. These are private to you.
- Care: your dog’s bookings, care logs (for example “fed” or “walked” and when) and health records such as vaccines, medications, insurance and microchip details, with any photos or PDFs you attach. Records and their files are stored privately and shown only to you and the people you invite to your dog’s care team.
- Trips: the city and dates you plan a trip for are saved on your device only, not on our servers.
- Notifications: a device token so we can send the reminders and alerts you turn on.
My places and sharing
- Your saved spots, notes, photos, lists and home privacy zone are visible only to you.
- If you suggest a spot for the shared map, we receive only its kind, name, location and — if you leave it on — its note. Never your photos, dates, lists or account details. It is reviewed before it appears, and it is shown as added by “a local owner” unless you choose to show your username.
- Spots inside your home privacy zone cannot be suggested. The app never works out where you live; you set the zone yourself.
- If you share a list, anyone with the link sees only its public places (places on Google Maps or spots approved for the shared map). Your private spots and your identity are never shown. You can stop sharing at any time.
- There is no following of people, no messaging and no live location in the app.
Care team
- You can invite family, a dog walker or a sitter to help with your dog by sending them a one-time code. Codes expire after 7 days and work once.
- People on your dog’s team see that dog’s schedule, care logs and records, and the usernames of others on the team. Family can add and edit; sitters can view and log. Nothing else about your account is shared.
- You can remove anyone at any time, and anyone can leave. Deleting your account removes you from every team.
Reading photos with AI
If you choose “Scan a certificate” or add a booking “From a screenshot”, that one image is sent to OpenAI to read the names and dates so we can fill in the form for you. OpenAI processes it for that request only; Gentle Wuff does not keep the image unless you attach it to a record. The feature is optional and only runs when you use it.
Service providers
The app stores data with Supabase (database, sign-in and file storage), shows place names, hours and photos from Google Maps Platform, reads photos you choose to scan with OpenAI, and sends notifications through Firebase Cloud Messaging. The app does not use advertising SDKs or sell your information.
Deleting your account
You can delete your account in the app under Profile → Account → Delete account, or by emailing help@gentlewuff.com from the address on your account. Deleting your account removes your profile, dogs and their care records, reports, posts, saved places, My places and home privacy zone. Spots you had added to the shared map stay for other owners without your name.
How we use it
- To process and deliver your orders, returns and warranty claims, and to provide customer support (including through our chat assistant).
- To send you marketing emails or text messages if you have opted in.
- With your consent, to measure how the Site is used (analytics) and to measure and personalize advertising (marketing).
- To keep the Site and our customers secure, prevent fraud and comply with the law.
Chat & AI assistant
Our chat assistant is optional and only loads when you open it. Before your first message we tell you that chats are recorded. Messages you send are processed by Gentle Wuff and our service providers, including OpenAI, whose AI models generate the assistant’s replies. Please don’t share sensitive information (such as payment card numbers) in chat.
Email & text messages
If you sign up for our emails, we use your email address to send you news and offers. Our marketing emails may contain pixels and tracked links that tell us whether an email was opened or a link was clicked. Every marketing email includes our postal address and an unsubscribe link, and you can unsubscribe at any time.
If you separately opt in to text messages, we and our SMS service provider (Postscript) use your phone number to send recurring automated marketing texts. Consent is not a condition of purchase. Reply STOP to cancel or HELP for help; message and data rates may apply. See the SMS terms in our Terms of Service.
Notice of financial incentive
We may offer a discount (for example, 10% off your first order) when you sign up for our emails or texts. This is a “financial incentive” under California law. To take part you provide your email address and/or phone number; we use them to send the discount and marketing messages as described above. Participation is optional and you can withdraw at any time by unsubscribing (emails) or replying STOP (texts). We estimate the value of your data to be reasonably related to the value of the discount offered, based on our expenses related to the program and the expected revenue from marketing communications.
Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to:
- Access the personal information we hold about you, and receive a copy of it.
- Delete your personal information, subject to legal exceptions.
- Correct inaccurate personal information.
- Opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information and of targeted advertising — use “Your Privacy Choices” at the bottom of any page, or enable Global Privacy Control in your browser.
- Withdraw consent at any time, without affecting processing that happened before.
- Appeal a decision we make about your request.
To make a request, email help@gentlewuff.com. We will verify your request using information we already have and respond within the time required by law. You may use an authorized agent, and we will not discriminate against you for exercising your rights.
Children
Due to the nature of Gentle Wuff’s business, our Site is not directed to minors, and Gentle Wuff does not knowingly solicit, collect, use, or disclose Personal Information from children under 13 years of age. If we become aware that we have knowingly collected Personal Information from a child under the age of 13, we will delete such information from our records.
Do-not-track disclosure
Do Not Track (“DNT”) is an older browser setting with no agreed standard. We do not respond to DNT, but we do honor the Global Privacy Control signal as described above, and no analytics or advertising tags run without your consent.
Your California privacy rights
If you are a California resident, you may request information from us once a calendar year about the customer information we shared, if any, with third parties for their own direct marketing purposes. To submit a request, please email us at help@gentlewuff.com or contact us at:
Gentle Wuff, Inc. — 4845 W. Nevso Dr., Las Vegas, NV 89103.

Unfortunately, no data transmission over the Internet or storage of information can be guaranteed to be 100% secure. As a result, while Gentle Wuff strives to protect your Personal Information, we cannot ensure or warrant the security of any information you transmit to Gentle Wuff, and you do so at your own risk.
